Koru Gardens is a family owned business which combines landscape design, garden tours and a boutique perennial nursery, filled with both common and rare plant gems.

Garden designs
Over the past 30 years Rebecca has gained extensive horticultural knowledge and skills which enable her to create garden environments which work! Each design is tailored to the clients needs, in both an aesthetically pleasing and lifestyle appropriate manner. Nothing is too big or too small as designs may be a full scale reinvention, or a simple planting plan. We also love to work with existing gardens and structures to minimise environmental damage. Once designs are complete we often also work with local clients to oversee the project completion. Please see our design page for more info.

Plant Nursery

Koru Gardens' Plant Nursery was inherited from Rebecca's father, Roger Springett, who set up the nursery in the early 80s in order to grow intriguing and exotic plants for sale. The nursery is now situated in Waiuku, Auckland and sends out high quality perennial plants on order around the country. The nursery caters to both the gardening public and larger landscape design projects and all of our plants are hand cared for and propagated by a small team of horticulturalists. We know that a healthy plant in our nursery means a healthy plant for your garden! Please see our perennial plants page to view or purchase plants.

ABOUT REBECCA
I have been involved in the Horticultural Industry in some form ever since I completed my Horticultural Science Degree at Massey University. Working in Garden Centers, Nurseries, for Auckland City Council, (Parks Department), and in Private gardens carrying out maintenance, renovating and creating new gardens. This has enabled me to develop an extensive knowledge of plants. I am passionate about placing the right plant in the right spot. This avoids costly plant losses and leads to thriving beautiful, distinct gardens. Since 2008, I have been designing and facilitating landscape projects in the Pacific, Solomon Islands and Fiji.

In 2016 I completed a Diploma in Landscape Design, so that I could further my design skill and expertise. Since then I have had the privilege of designing gardens throughout the country. I am personable and easy to work alongside, and determined to do the best job that I can, going the extra mile to get the perfect design and planting for you.

Being passionate about leaving the world in a better place than I left it, I am continuously looking at ways to be more environmentally friendly in the nursery and within the garden designs,using sustainable methods where ever it is possible.
