Eastern America. Named the Obedient Plant as its flowers have hinged stalks and will stay put when moved. Large clumps of stems carry attractive, lance-shaped leaves and very long spikes of tubular, hooded rose-pink or white ('Abla') flowers. Lovely in the border and rapidly gaining in popularity as a splendid cut flower. Not at all fussy as to soil or situation.
