Mexico.  Narrow and pointed leaves are a characteristic of this Penstemon which is one of the parents of some of the showiest hybrids.  The fairly large flowers are inflated, funnel shaped and violet to rosy-purple.  This is a very variable plant and so colours may drift to either side of the given spectrum. Sun and good drainage.
