A superb plant, "magnifica" indeed! The huge, oval and rough leaves form a great pile of foliage and ascend part way up the strong stems. The large, brown flower buds open to even larger, rich and deep golden yellow flowers. These flowers have a solid, central disc plus long, slim outer petals, the whole flower about 15cm across. This gorgeous plant is lovely in the border and looks even better against coppery-leaved shrubs or even a brown fence. Moist soil and full sun but not really fussy.Caucasus.
